Evidence-based interventions to assist youth at risk
Reason supports:
- legislation to increase leaving out-of-home care age to 21 years
- increase the age of criminal responsibility to 14 years
- increase funding for diversion and early intervention in youth criminal justice, including restorative justice approaches
- youth justice facilities that address the underpinning causes of offending, based on Spain’s Diagrama model
- investment in youth drug rehabilitation programs
- urgent responses to meet youth community needs in outer high-growth suburbs
- access to culturally safe reproductive health care
- access to free menstruation supplies.
