Even before COVID-19 hit our shores, there was a hidden pandemic impacting thousands of Australians: Loneliness.
Far from being benign, the impact of loneliness can be more dangerous than smoking, with impacts ranging from mental health, poorer cardiovascular health, a faster rate of cognitive decline which can all lead to premature death.
While COVID-19 has exacerbated loneliness, there is hope and a number of ways the community and governments can work together to overcome this pandemic.
Join us at 6pm this Friday 3 September, Fiona Patten MP will host an expert zoom panel, followed by an opportunity for members to 'connect' in break out discussion rooms. Panellists are to be announced shortly.
